International breaks are always looked back as a break in momentum by the clubs but it is something they can’t run away from. And when the English Premier League season restarts after the short break, all eyes would be on Manchester City.

Man City and Everton Season so far

The arrival of Pep Guardiola to the Etihad has been the talking point of the entire Premier League this season. And true to the expectations, City have been in scintillating form annihilating every opponent. But that was only until they encountered fellow pace-setters Tottenham. The loss before the break must have hurt Pep and his troops. A retaliation in the pipeline? Quite possible! The Citizens have 18 points from seven matches and currently are top of the table.

But make no mistake, Everton too have been one of the surprise packages of the season. Ronald Koeman seems to have brought a magic wand in the summer and Goodison Park is buzzing with anticipation of a great season. Their only loss came against Bournemouth and will hope to surprise the favorites. With 14 points, the Toffees are currently fifth in the table.

Tactics vs Tactics

Both the managers are known to be astute, although Koeman rarely gets acknowledged for his prowess. Guardiola has already proved that he leaves no stone unturned to prepare for a match. At the same time, Tottenham have shown the template to defeat them. Koeman would love to put one across his more acclaimed opponent!

Team news

Kevin De Bruyne is already out with injury while Bacary Sagna joins him on the sidelines, after sustaining a torn hamstring. Everton don’t have many injury problems and should start with their usual eleven. With the prospect of facing De Bruyne out of the window, Everton will look to make a fist out of this encounter.

Manchester City v Everton Bettingxpert Prediction

It has to be a direct shootout between strikers as Sergio Aguero and Romelu Lukaku face-off. Two of the most lethal poachers of the league, both have been in good form in the Premier League. But with Aguero struggling in the midweek with Argentina, there’s hope for Everton – although he tends to reserve his best for the League. Back both of them to score in this encounter.

It should be an entertaining encounter considering the free-flowing football both teams play. There would be more than three goals in this encounter and City look well equipped to win by more than a couple of goals’ margin.
