This weekend in English Premier League will witness another blockbuster clash beside the Manchester derby when defending Champions Leicester City travel to Anfield to clash with Liverpool. This match would be played on Saturday, September 10.

Season so far for Liverpool and Leicester

Liverpool seem to have picked up from where they finished their last season – brilliant in one match and ordinary in the next. They looked brilliant against Arsenal in the season opener but outright pathetic against Burnley in the very next game. Though they picked their game up and drew against Tottenham 1-1 in the last round, Jurgen Klopp must be worried about the inconsistent streak of his team. With four points in their kitty so far though, Liverpool are still lurking around the top contenders.

Leicester on the other hand have started their season in the worst possible manner with a loss against Hull in their opener. But they too have four points in their bag and look all set to resume their challenge to stay in the top six. Claudio Ranieri knows very well that if his side can stay in European qualification places, it would be a huge boost.

Ranieri and Klopp Similar managers?

Take a close look and you would observe that Ranieri and Klopp have so much in common. Both are tactically astute, both love to work closely with their players and both carry their jobs with professional dignity. Maybe that’s what makes the clash doubly interesting.

Liverpool supporters have been buzzing ever since Klopp came to the club although their problem of inconsistent displays still haunts them. The arrival of Sadio Mane seems to have spurred the team on while for Leicester the loss of N’Golo Kante is something that is turning to be irrecoverable.

Team latest news

Klopp hates the international breaks as it disrupts the rhythm of his squad. True to his fears, the break has put question marks over the fitness of Mane and Coutinho. The Brazilian could be jetlagged and may not be fit to face the Champions.

Ranieri will have one eye on the Champions League that would start next week with a trip to Belgium on the cards. But then the daunting prospect of facing the noisy Kop faithful is something that can’t be diverted so easily.

Liverpool v Leicester Bet Prediction

Liverpool has a very strong home record and that makes them a tough opponent to face. Eight matches unbeaten, the Reds should be looking to make another successful game at home. But the Foxes are hungry for a win although they are yet to exhibit their high standards of last season. Odds of 3/1 (William Hill) on a Leicester win look highly enticing.

Both these teams love scoring goals but coming on the heels of international break they could be forced to dig deep and stay back. A bet on under 2.5 goals at odds of 11/10 (William Hill) is another interesting bet.
