After a long break for the International matches, English Premier League kicks back into action. One of the biggest matches on show will be at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea take on Leicester City on Saturday, October 15.

Chelsea and Leceister Season so far

Chelsea started their season well under new coach Antonio Conte. With no European action this season, many predicted that Chelsea would be one of the underdogs for the title. But their quick start fizzled out before the international break as consecutive losses to Liverpool and Arsenal came as a reality check. After seven rounds of matches, the Blues are sitting at seventh place with 13 points.

Leicester aren’t any better – in fact are worse than the Blues! No one thought they would meet the lofty standards they set in last season but their performance so far has been below par. With three losses already in the first seven matches, the Foxes look a pale shadow of their own self from previous season. The international break couldn’t have come at a better time for the defending Champions who are currently at 12th position with just eight points.

An Italian battle!

For Claudio Ranieri it is a game back at the club that he served earlier. But there is no love lost between the venerable Italian and the Chelsea fans. Conte is yet to endear himself to the fans which means this battle royale is going to be an interesting one.

The Teams news headlines

The Chelsea defence looks ragged and bereft of leaders in the absence of John Terry. Gary Cahill has lost his form so badly that he is on the verge of being dropped. There are doubts over Cesc Fabregas too with the Spaniard not really a first choice for Conte.

Leicester are going through a rough patch in the Premier League although their initiation to Champions League has been all smooth. Ranieri may use the break to whip his team back into action.

Chelsea V Leicester week 8 betting Prediction

Last season Leicester were one of the toughest teams to beat. But they are struggling to recoup their form. The form of Islam Slimani is a huge positive and Ranieri will hope that the Algerian will keep scoring goals.

Chelsea have their own problems but are looking better than their opponents before the start of the match. True that their defensive frailties are yet to be sorted out but on current form Leicester hardly look the team to trouble them. Both teams look good to score but back Chelsea to win this one.
