Poland win 5-4 on penalties

Euro 2016

For the first time in Euro 2016, Belgium showcased its true potential when it crushed surprise knockout qualifiers Hungary 4-0 in a lopsided encounter to enter the quarter-finals.

Belgium had an up and down tournament so far in the group stages and there were questions popping up on their favorite status. But, the Red Devils got the ball rolling early as a Toby Alderweireld header put them in lead. Hungary tried its best to push for a leveler but the pocket dynamo Eden Hazard was on song to put the contest beyond doubt.

He first set up Michy Batshuayi and then scored a brilliant solo goal to shut the door on Hungary. Yannick Carrasco’s late goal was just the icing on the cake for Marc Wilmots’ team.

The win puts Belgium into the last eight where they will take on Wales. This side at its best, is one of the most dangerous and on current form, they definitely look so!

EURO 2016 - Hungary v Belgium Player of the game

Hazard had a dismal season with Chelsea as he came to the Euros with a lot of baggage. His performance in the group stages was also not satisfactory with questions being raised on his suitability to the team. Hazard answered each of those critics in the best manner possible. Who better than him to be the player of this game!
