There will be great excitement on Sunday when surprise package Hungary will look to pocket another big scalp when they take on Belgium. This Euro 2016 round of 16 match will be played at the Stadium Municipal on Sunday, June 26.

if you are a neutral watching this European Championships then Hungary is the team for you! Their performances have not been breathtaking but have been really effective. Pitted against Portugal, Austria and Iceland, the Hungarians surprised many analysts and their own supporters by topping the group. What worked in their favor is the opening game 2-0 win over Austria that not just set the tone for their performance but also increased their confidence. And coming into the knockouts, this is definitely one team that every opponent would be wary of.

Belgium on the other hand is a complete contrast. Having started the tournament as one of the title favorites, they were brought crashing down to earth in the very first match by Italy. The 2-0 reverse not just dampened their hopes but also highlighted their flaws – a disjointed team of brilliant individuals. Though they got back on track with a comprehensive 3-0 win over Republic of Ireland, the flaws were once again on view in their narrow 1-0 win over Sweden. They qualified second behind Italy and still carry hopes of going deep but questions still remain unanswered.

Hungary v Belgium Betting advice

Hungary lost two of their last ten matches while only one of their last five has been a reverse. Two defeats in ten matches is something that speaks volumes of this side as a tough unit to beat. Six of their previous ten encounters ended with under 2.5 goals which could once again be a case here.

Despite constant criticism, it has to be noted that Belgium has lost only once in their last six matches. Seven of their previous matches have ended in over 2.5 goals but Hungary’s defence could be difficult to crack and may not wilt many times. Backing both sides to score a goal is a worthy punt while both teams could battle hard and deep – the match may even go to penalties.

Ou advice: Back a draw in normal time.
