Euro 2016 will come to a grand finish at the Stade de France on Sunday, July 10 as France and Portugal vie for the title.

France were one of the pre-tournament favorites and with a talented squad, the hosts were expected to challenge for the title. They had to rely on the brilliance of playmaker Dimitri Payet in the group stages while it was Antoine Griezmann who led them in the knockouts. In fact, the Atletico Madrid forward is the top scorer of the tournament with five goals. And the best thing for France is that their midfield dynamo Paul Pogba is slowly coming into good form after a difficult start. And with Hugo Lloris manning the goal admirably, France look a complete side capable enough of lifting the title.

Portugal on the other hand have not been glamorous in their journey so far. They went winless in the group stages and had to wait until last moment to qualify as one of the best third-placed sides. Narrow wins over Croatia and Poland earned them a place in the last four but has done little in answering the critics. Their performance against Wales was much better though, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani’s goals enough to see them past the line. The Seleccao hopes would be on these two plus Ricardo Quaresma who has shown he can score important goals. But watch out for the young and exciting winger Renato Sanches!

France may continue with the same side that served them well against Germany unless Didier Deschamps decides to recall N’Golo Kante. Griezmann will be carrying the hopes of an entire nation. Portugal will welcome back Pepe and William Carvalho which should a huge boost to them.

EURO 2016 FINAL - Portugal v France - Betting advice

Both sides are unbeaten in the tournament. While France have won nine of their last ten encounters, Portugal won just two of their last eight encounters. The Portuguese have shown a knack of stifling teams in this tournament and hitting them on the counter. The game should be decided in normal time with France looking like having an edge.

France have been in free-scoring form in the Euros having found the net 13 times in six matches so far. Portugal have been a little less proficient with seven goals that include two goal-less matches. Their scoring record is a good indicator that they could play out another match with over 2.5 goals.

Back France to lift the title.
